Located on Hoover just south of 12 Mile, Joltz Cafe is much more than your average coffee shop. The cafe offers a large selection of coffee-based drinks, but also sells smoothies, bakery items, and nitrogen ice cream. If that last item sounds a little odd to you, nitrogen ice cream is one of the latest crazes in frozen desserts. It gets its name because the ice cream is made fresh right before your eyes, using liquid nitrogen to freeze it almost instantaneously.
If you would like to try nitrogen ice cream or any of the other delicious creations from Joltz Cafe, you can visit them at 28845 Hoover Road, just across the street from Ascension Hospital. Joltz Cafe is currently open Saturday through Thursday from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. for carryout orders. They are closed on Fridays.
