Record Store Day at Village Vinyl in Warren

Every April, Record Store Day brings together fans and artists to celebrate the culture of the “independently owned record store”. The first record store day was held in 2008, and since its inaugural year the event has grown immensely, with stores across the globe recognizing this day and selling exclusive record albums that are released in honor of this annual event. These exclusive releases range from new records of current artists to limited re-pressings of classic albums. (To see a full list of this year’s releases click here.)

This year, Record Store Day will be held on Saturday, April 21st, which is also the first anniversary for Village Vinyl, located in Warren’s Historic District. In honor of this momentous occasion, the shop is celebrating with special deals throughout the day and will also have some of those exclusive RSD releases available. Doors to Village Vinyl will open early at 8 a.m., with free donuts and coffee while they last. Once shoppers are in the door, they will not only have a chance to snag some exclusive releases, but also to shop the great selection in the store, with special items marked at 20% off and 10% off everything else (excluding RSD releases). If you can’t make it out early in the day, the shop will also be offering free pizza and refreshments later in the afternoon. To top it all off, after you’re done shopping, you can head across the street and receive $1 off a beverage at Kuhnhenn Brewery with your Village Vinyl receipt.

Village Vinyl will be open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. this Saturday. For more information on their Record Store Day festivities, click here. To learn more about Village Vinyl, visit them on Facebook at Facebook.com/VillageVinylRecords. Village Vinyl is located at 5972 Chicago Rd. in Warren.
