The U.S. Census Bureau is Now Hiring

Every 10 years, the U.S. Census Bureau conducts a count of people living in the United States. The Census is very important in determining many things in our country, such as the number of seats each state receives in the U.S. House of Representatives, and the amount of money allocated for roads, schools, healthcare institutions, and more. Counting all these people is a huge job, and that’s why the Census Bureau is hiring individuals to help them out.

The U.S. Census Bureau is currently hiring temporary employees throughout the country. Here in Macomb County, they are hiring office workers as well as Census Takers who will be working in the field. Pay for these various positions ranges from $20.00 – $24.50 per hour. In addition, field workers are reimbursed for work-related mileage and expenses, where applicable.

Although Census Day is April 1, 2020, offices are open now and the surveying process will take place throughout 2020. If you are interested in working for the U.S. Census, visit them online at 2020Census.gov/jobs. For more information on the 2020 Census and its importance, visit 2020Census.gov.
