Warren Garden Club & Historical Commission

If you’re looking for a way to get more involved in your community, there are two great organizations in Warren that need your help! The Warren Historical Commission and the Warren Garden Club are both currently looking for volunteers.

The Warren Historical Commission and Warren Historical and Genealogical Society have a love for Warren History. These groups work together to maintain the Historical Gallery located in the Warren Community Center. They also hold events and meetings to spark interest in Warren’s history and are involved in preserving and sharing historic sites in Warren, such as the Bunert One-Room Schoolhouse, Historic Warren Union Cemetery, and Historic Village. To learn more about the Warren Historical Commission and to find out how you can get involved, call (586)258-2056. You can also follow the Warren Historical and Genealogical Society on Facebook here.

The Warren Garden Club is looking for gardeners of all ages and skillsets to join their club. Some of the projects in which this group is involved include the Plant a Seed Program at the Spring Carnival, the Plant Exchange, and the Warren Garden Walk. They maintain the Courtyard at the Warren Community Center and gardens around Warren’s Human Sundial. The group also makes and sells wreaths and garlands during the holidays, with proceeds benefitting the Bunert One-Room Schoolhouse, Union Cemetery, and Old Village Hall. The Warren Garden Club even offers scholarships through schools in the area. If you’re interested in being part of this club, please contact Sue Keffer at keffert@wowway.com.
