One of the most popular databases at the Warren Public Library is Ancestry Library Edition. This genealogical database is used by many to look up census records from 1790-1940, draft cards, ship passenger lists, and much more.
This database was only available for in-library use, but due to the unprecedented shut down of libraries across the state, Ancestry is offering remote access to Warren Public Library cardholders for a limited time – through June 30. Follow the steps below to access Ancestry Library Edition from home.
1. Visit the online library catalog by using the Library Catalog link or using the My Account login box on the website. https://www.warrenlibrary.net/
2. When you visit the catalog, check the upper-right portion of the screen. If logged in, you will see your name. If not, click Log In.
3. After logging in, the Ancestry link will be revealed. Click the Ancestry – Remote Access Link at the top of the left-hand box to access Ancestry Library Edition.
That’s it! Now you can enjoy researching your family history – thanks to the Warren Public Library.
