Blessing of the Animals

God’s creatures will receive a special blessing this weekend in Warren. Regina High School is hosting its 11th annual Blessing of the Animals on October 1, 2022 at 10 AM. Each year in early October, people all over the world take their pets to church for a blessing. The blessings are done in celebration of St. Francis Day, and to honor Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. People are encouraged to follow the example of Saint Francis and embrace all God’s creatures with respect, dignity, and care.

Deacon Ed McLeod will bless the animals at Regina. There will be refreshments and prizes for the most unique pet and talented pet. Regina High School is located at 13900 Masonic, Warren, MI 48088.

Regina High School was founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph, Third Order of St. Francis. The Franciscan Order is the largest religious order in the Catholic Church.
