Chocolate Gallery Cafe Celebrates 30 years

A quaint cafe near Chicago and Ryan Roads reached a major milestone recently.

The Chocolate Gallery Cafe celebrated its 30th anniversary in business last month.

Owner and Chef of The Chocolate Gallery Cafe Jason Klaur stated that he bought the Cafe three years ago from previous owners Charles and Cathy Labash. “We’ve been picking up since Covid,” Klaur said. “But it’s such a hidden spot, so we’re happy to have new business.”

The Café is open for breakfast and lunch Thursday through Sunday from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. They offer deliciously creative daily specials like banana split pancakes, chocolate raspberry pancakes, and apple pecan French toast. And popular favorites like eggs Benedict, chocolate berry stuffed French toast, and of course, lemon ricotta pancakes.

Klaur has added some creative skillets and scrambles to the menu since purchasing the cafe from the previous owners. But he will always have the Labash’s recipes on the menu that have kept patrons coming back for 30 years.

Klaur says he’s incredibly happy with the success. “We’re doing everything we can to make sure we keep going for another 30 years.“
