Help Our Community this Holiday Season with The Salvation Army Angel Tree

This year, you won’t see many drop boxes for unwrapped toys for The Salvation Army at local establishments, but the need in our community is greater than ever. However, The Salvation Army is still doing their best to make sure that every child has a Christmas this year. In order to help ensure that everyone also stays safe this holiday season, they have shifted their way of collecting items for those in need.

Every year the Salvation Army helps make Christmas brighter for children and senior citizens in our community with their Angel Tree. Typically, those wishing to donate visit an Angel Tree, take a tag from the tree, and purchase items for the individual listed on this tag. However, this year, The Salvation Army has moved their Angel Tree to a digital platform, making it easy for people to donate toys and clothing to those in need in our community right from the comfort of their own home.

There are a few ways that you can participate in this year’s Angel Tree. First, you can donate by visiting: https://tinyurl.com/walmartangeltreewarrenmi. This website will take you directly to items that Angels in Warren have asked for this Christmas. Once you make your purchase from this link, the items will ship directly to The Salvation Army in Warren. Then, they will distribute the items to those on their Angel list.

Another way that you can help is by adopting an Angel. By visiting  https://tinyurl.com/adoptsaangelswarrenmicorps, you can choose from a list of children in our community whose family could use some help this Christmas. The list will allow you to search by age and gender, and will show you that child’s wish list. Once you choose an Angel to adopt, you will receive an email with details on how and when to drop your gifts off at the Warren Corps of The Salvation Army.

Lastly, you can also drop off new unwrapped toys at The Salvation Army Warren Corps at 24140 Mound Rd. Please make sure that you wear a mask and practice social distancing when making your donation. For more information on this option, please click here.

The Salvation Army Angel Tree helps children 14 & under, as well as seniors 55 and over, by providing a gift to open on Christmas and meal assistance. If you or your family needs help this Christmas, you can apply to the Angel Tree program by visiting saangeltree.org. For more information on who is eligible to apply for this program, click here.
