Construction is starting on Mound Road! The transformational $217 million Innovate Mound project to rebuild nine miles of roadway along Mound Road from 11 Mile in Warren to M-59 in Sterling Heights breaks ground this month.
A community open house is planned for Thursday, August 26, 2021, from 4–7 p.m. hosted by the Chardam Gear Company, 40805 Mound Road, south of 18 Mile, in Sterling Heights. This is a family-friendly event with outdoor activities and ice cream! Come meet project team members and the contractor to get the latest project information and construction details.
The first phase of the Innovate Mound project, which starts this month, runs from Hall Road to 18 Mile Road. The second phase, from 18 Mile Road to 14 Mile Road, will begin in 2022.
