Library Card Sign-Up Month 2023

Join us in September to get your own Warren Public Library Card!

September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when the Warren Public Library joins the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide to remind everyone about the valuable resources available with a library card. Since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year. The ALA and libraries work together every September in a national effort to ensure everyone signs up for their own library card.

From borrowing books, ebooks, and audiobooks, to getting homework help, learning new skills, or attending a book club or storytime, a library card helps everyone do more of what they enjoy.

Interested in trying a new hobby? The library can help. We have crafting books, a database of curated craft videos called Creativebug, and also free in-person craft events. Does your child need to read every night as part of their homework? The library can supply new titles for your child to choose. We even have reading kits that include fun reading games and activities. Need a hotspot or a telescope? The library loans both items with a library card.

There’s something for everyone at the Warren Public Library, and signing up for a library card is the first step on the path to academic achievement and lifelong learning for students. The Warren Public Library, along with libraries everywhere, continues to adapt and expand services to meet the evolving needs of our community. To sign up for a library card or to learn more about the library’s resources and programs, please visit warrenlibrary.net or visit one of the four branches of the Warren Public Library.

During September, the Warren Public Library will have Library Card Sign-up drawings. Warren residents who sign up for a new library card or visit the library to check out items using their current library card during the month of September can enter a drawing to win a prize or a gift card. Warren residents can also stop by to get free replacement library cards in September. The library offers free courtesy library cards to patrons who work in Warren with proof of employment in the form of a letter, paycheck stub, or employment badge. Stop by the circulation desk at any Warren Public Library for details.
