A building swap that’s been in the works is finally here. Macomb County Habitat For Humanity‘s resale store is being demolished in order to have the city build a new fire station. So, the city gifted the nonprofit organization with another building, an old library.
The former Maybelle Burnette Library is now a newly designed space for the Habitat for Humanity Resale store and office space. With newly remodeled store features, the open showroom will feature a large selection of furniture, appliances, and home decor for sale.
A grand opening for the newly renovated space will be on Thursday, October 19th from 2-4 pm. Everyone is invited to come check out the new store and shop around.
Along with the new building, Helen Hicks, president, and CEO of Macomb Habitat said they needed two murals painted: one indoors and one outside.
Lincoln High School will be designing and painting the outside mural during the ribbon cutting.
Plus, artist Sanda Cook will be working on the indoor mural, with the theme of flowers.
Bring family and friends out to the ribbon cutting located at 22005 Van Dyke and be a part of the new store launch.
