MI Warren Business of the Week: Dragonmead Brewery

Dragonmead Brewery was founded in 1997 when there weren’t many microbreweries around the Metro Detroit area. In fact, the state of Michigan didn’t change legislation to allow brewpubs until 1994. Dragonmead was founded on the mission to “produce beer so very good that it changes the very nature of the industry”. Now, over 20 years after opening, this local brewery features more than 40 beers, as well as mead and wine. Their menu includes American, Belgian, English, German, Scottish, and Russian-style brews, along with special releases and Firkin-Hand Pull Beer. You can view their full beer menu online here.

If you would like to give one of Dragonmead’s dozens of beers a try, visit their tasting room in Warren located at 14600 E. 11 Mile Road, just east of Bunert off the I-696 service drive. While you’re there, you can also snack on a variety of chips and dips, soft pretzels and beer cheese, or even venison sticks. Select beers are also available to take home with you bottled.

Dragonmead is currently open Tuesday – Thursday from 3 p.m. – 10 p.m. and Friday – Saturday from 1 p.m. – 11 p.m. Follow them on Facebook to hear about upcoming special events like game nights and Oktoberfest. For more information on Dragonmead and their story, visit Dragonmead.com.
