Redrunn Skate Shop Brings their Love of Skateboarding to Warren

Two Warren families have joined together to open a new skate shop in Warren. Redrunn Skate Shop is partly driven by anticipation of Warren’s proposed skatepark at Eckstein Park, and partly driven by the team’s love for skateboarding, skating, and the related subculture. Loren & Monica Papasian along with Matthew Tomaszewski hope that this new shop will help bring skate culture to Warren and introduce the sport to the next generation. They themselves have been skaters for decades, with Loren and Matthew being skateboarders, and Monica being involved in roller derby. They then passed their love of these sports onto their own children and now hope to inspire others to join in on the fun.

Redrunn Skate Shop will be located in the Village Plaza at 13 Mile & Mound Rd. near Dunkin’ Donuts. The shop’s location is approximately a half mile from Eckstein Park. The shop is also located near Red Run Drain, which is part of the inspiration for the name, while the play on words also reflects the owners’ love of horror films. Redrunn will carry many popular skateboard brands as well as local and independent brands. They will have everything one would need whether they are new to the sport or have been skating for years, including full skateboards, parts, clothing, and shoes.

You can check out Redrunn Skate Shop for yourself starting this weekend! The shop will be celebrating its grand opening on Saturday, January 28th with raffles and free pinball throughout the day. The celebration continues all weekend long, starting on Friday from noon – 7 p.m., Saturday from noon – 7 p.m., and Sunday from noon – 5 p.m. After this weekend, regular store hours for the winter season will be Tuesday – Saturday from noon – 6 p.m.
