Tennis is a lifetime sport that the whole family can play! In addition to fitness, tennis teaches life skills such as discipline, sportsmanship, problem-solving, and self-reliance. Coach Chip Fazio, a USPTA certified Elite Professional, loves teaching tennis to kids and adults! Students should have athletic footwear and a water bottle. Kids should have a properly fitting youth racket.

Saturdays at Halmich Park
May 8 – June 19(no class on May 29)
A. 10:15 – 11am 4-6 years old (19-21 inch racquet)
B. 11 – 12pm Youth beginner, 7-12 years old (21-23 inch racquet)
C. 12 – 1pm Youth intermediate, 13-18 years old (23-27 inch racquet)
$75 resident $95 non-resident
Adult Softball Leagues
The City of Warren Parks & Recreation Department will be offering Adult Softball Leagues. Leagues are scheduled to begin the week of April 26, 2021. Game times will be 6:10, 7:15, 8:30 & 9:35 p.m. Sunday game times will begin at 5 pm. Rules are governed by One Nation Softball. The games will be played at the following locations:
Wiegand Park – On Toepfer (8 1/2 Mile Road) between Hoover and Van Dyke.
Halmich Park – On the north side of Thirteen Mile Road between Ryan and Dequindre.
Leagues will be offered in the following formats:
Absolutely no tournament teams are allowed in our recreational divisions. Any tournament teams that register in our recreational divisions will be disqualified from the league without a refund. No more than 2 tournament players are to be on a recreational team roster.
Open division is allowed a maximum of 6 tournament players on the roster.
All Leagues Play Doubleheader Games
Men’s Softball
League # 12202 – Tuesday- Recreational Division
League # 12205 – Thursday- Open Division
League # 12208 – Sunday – Recreational Division
Coed Softball
League # 12204 – Wednesday- Recreational Division
Umpire Fees:
1. Each team must pay a $15 per game umpire fee in cash prior to game time ($30 fee for doubleheaders).
Registration:
Teams that participated in the 2020 Warren Parks & Recreation softball leagues will have priority registration beginning March 1, 2021. New teams can begin registration March 8, 2021.
All league entry fees are $800; 50% of fees are required at time of registration. Teams must be paid in full by April 9 or will be dropped from the league. All fees are non-refundable. Absolutely NO REFUNDS. Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 12 games.
****If any team forfeits during the season, they must pay a $60 forfeit fee before the next scheduled game. If any team forfeits two weeks during the season they will be dismissed from the league.***

USTA Entry-level Orange and Green Ball Tournaments at Halmich Park
These are fun, friendly, non-elimination events for kids 10yrs and younger.
Orange ball is for beginners. Orange ballers must know how to keep score and serve with some reliability.
Green ball is for advanced beginners. Green ballers must know how to keep score and be able to serve and rally and easy ball reliably.
Green and orange events will run about 2.5 hours each.
Sun June 6, 1-3:30pm Orange, 3:30-6pm Green
Sun July 25, 9-11:30 Orange,11:30am-2:00pm Green
Sun Sept 5, 9-11:30 Orange,11:30am-2:00pm Green
