This Past Week in Sports Week of November 1st

It is now the second week of November and we’re in the Regionals for the football playoffs

Once again, the De La Salle Pilots continued their winning streak by defeating the Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils 35-0. This game was a tale of two halves. In the first half, the Pilots seemed to struggle to find their rhythm on the offensive side of the ball even though they were tied at 14 at the half. Michigan commit Will Johnson of Grosse Pointe showed why he will be playing in Ann Arbor next year, when he took a simple curl route and broke free for a long run and catch for a touchdown, showing his vision and speed. Then the second half started and the Pilots came out swinging. They picked up the tempo with their no-huddle offense and Quarterback Brady Drogosh had two rushing touchdowns to put them up. The Blue Devils didn’t have enough time to overcome a two-touchdown lead, as the Pilots defeated the Blue Devils 35-0.

The Pilots improve to 10-0 on the season and now move onto the next round of MHSAA High School Football Playoffs Regionals taking place this Saturday, November 13th vs Roseville at Wayne State University at 1:00 p.m. We’ll have these highlights for you on our next SportsLine Update on TV Warren’s Facebook & Vimeo pages.
