Patrons of all ages are encouraged to join the Warren Public Library’s “A Universe of Stories” Summer Reading Club which will run from June 15 to August 3. Children, teens, and adults will all have a chance to win prizes–such as iPad Minis, gift certificates, tickets to local attractions, a bike, and more–by reading, attending library programs, and playing games. Beginning
Saturday, June 15, patrons can stop by one of the Warren Public Library’s branches or visit warrenlibrary.readsquared.com to sign up for the Summer Reading Club.
To kick off summer reading, each branch will hold these special events for children on Saturday, June 15:
• Summer Reading Opening Day – a fun-filled day of drop-in games, crafts and prizes from 9:00 am-4:30 pm at the Burnette Branch Library, 586-758-2115.
• Discovery Under the Dome – a full immersion planetary show for K-5th-grade children as well as stories and crafts for younger siblings at 11:00 am at the Miller Branch Library, 586-751-5377. Registration required.
• Ming the Magnificent – an amazing and entertaining magic show with Magician Ming Louie at 1:00 pm at the Busch Branch Library, 586-353-0580. Registration required.
• Discovery Under the Dome – a full immersion planetary show for K-5th-grade children as well as a Star Wars storytime for younger children at 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm at the Civic Center Library, 586-751-0770. Registration required.
Teens will have their own kick-off party the night before on Friday, June 14, from 6:00-9:00 pm at a free lock-in at the Civic Center Library with an inflatable jousting arena, karaoke, video games, crafts, pizza, and a cosplay contest.
