Warren’s tree-lined walkable streets, beautiful parks, and proximity to City Hall are all part of what makes our town a great place to live, work, and play! Our volunteer groups work together to ensure our town continues to be a place to enjoy nature and outdoor recreation, and to keep our community clean and green.
One club in particular, the Warren Garden Club, works to create an environmentally friendly community and improve the quality of life in Warren. This club helps with the landscaping in the courtyard at the Community Center, as well as maintaining the flowers around the perimeter of the Center. They also care for the plantings and landscaping around the City.
During the holidays, the Garden Club decorates and sells Christmas wreaths and cedar roping, and also donates some of those to the Union Cemetery, the Bunert School, and the Village Hall.
If you’d like to be part of the Warren Garden Club, meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of the month in the cafeteria of the Warren Community Center. Projects include the “Plant a Seed” program during the Spring Carnival, a perennial plant exchange the second Saturday in May at the First Methodist Church parking lot on Chicago between Mound and Ryan.
